West Ham and Arsenal target Tammy Abraham told to quit Chelsea as Thomas Tuchel is ‘not a fan’ as Er

Tammy Abraham has been urged to leave Chelsea by Darren Ambrose due to Thomas Tuchel not being a fan of the striker.

The England international has been linked with moves across London to Arsenal and West Ham United, with Erling Haaland continually linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Although formerly a favourite of Frank Lampard, the arrival of Tuchel has seen the 23-year-old plummet down the pecking order.

Timo Werner was trialled up front, with Kai Havertz and Olivier Giroud both playing ahead of Abraham, before the latter departed for AC Milan.

The Gunners remain interested in the striker, who is reportedly valued at £40million – a price West Ham are understood to have shirked at.

Yet Ambrose believes Abraham must leave the Blues in order to achieve his undoubted potential.

“Thomas Tuchel is not a fan of Tammy Abraham,” he said on White and Jordan. “Again, I think talking about taking a slight step back to go forwards; I think Tammy has to do that.

“I think there will be takers, for sure, for £40m and I think he has been okay at Chelsea. He hasn’t had the opportunities he wanted under Thomas Tuchel.

“But that happens sometimes with managers and some players; sometimes you don’t get these opportunities when you can bring in players.

“I think to trial Havertz as a false nine as opposed to putting Tammy in…I think he will know that it is probably right to go.

“Try and become a main man somewhere and see where that takes him.”

Abraham, who was an Arsenal fan growing up, has scored 30 goals across all competitions in the past two seasons and excelled on loan at Aston Villa in the 2018/19 season.

Although he was Chelsea’s joint top-scorer with Werner on 12 goals (which came in 20 games fewer), the lure of signing Borussia Dortmund hit-man Haaland appears too strong for Tuchel.

As the reigning Champions League holders, Chelsea would certainly be an enticing destination for the Norway international and Ambrose believes Abraham should not be afraid to take a step back.

He added: “Essentially, he is coming from Chelsea, he has worked under some good managers and Thomas Tuchel doesn’t fancy him.

“So people are going to want to sign him, how much that is going to be I don’t know how much people are going to be willing to pay for him, but I think he will do well at a club like Arsenal or West Ham.

“You have the top four at the moment; I class them as the second group at this precise moment, Spurs as well at the moment.

“I think he would have a lot of takers at the moment and I think he would do well.”
