TVB’s Top Paid Actors
Recently, it is rumored that Ruco Chan (陳展鵬) has tried to negotiate a higher salary as his contract ends this year. Unfortunately, it seems that TVB did not approve of his request, and is punishing him by cutting his scenes in Invisible Team <隱形戰隊> and Falling In Love With You During Childhood <童時愛上你>. The news has peaked interest in salaries for TVB’s top paid actors.
In sixth place is Benjamin Yuen (袁偉豪). Although he has yet to win TVB Best Actor, he has already won the title in the Singapore and Malaysia regions for his role in Stealing Seconds <棟仁的時光>. In order to not been seen as leeching off his wife Bowie Cheung’s (張寶兒) wealthy family, Benjamin has been working very hard, but his annual salary is still around $3 million Hong Kong dollars.
In fifth place is 44-year-old Ruco Chan, whose net worth greatly increased after winning Best Actor in 2016 for A Fist within Four Walls <城寨英雄>. Unfortunately, it seems that his opportunities to make additional income through commercials and events pales in comparison with other TVB actors. It is estimated that his annual salary is HK$5 million Ruco has since denied rumors of him negotiating his salary, and stated that HK$5 million is already a good amount!
In fourth place is Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), who has exponentially increased his net worth after winning Best Actor three times. It is rumored that in 2011, his fee for attending events was already HK$50,000 and he has switched several luxury cars since. He is also quite popular in China and has been to different events across Hangzhou, Shanghai, Tianjin, Lanzhou, Jiangsu, and Guangdong. A conservative estimate of his annual earnings brings it in at over HK$5 million.
In third place is 38-year-old Vincent Wong (王浩信) who has won Best Actor twice both for the Legal Mavericks <踩過界> franchise in 2017 and 2020. A golden goose for TVB, Vincent he has been focusing on developing his career in China and opened his own studio. A conservative estimate brings his annual pay at HK$6 million.
Coming in second place is 47-year-old Kenneth Ma (馬國明). His popularity greatly increased after the popular The Exorcist’s Meter <降魔的>. After having crossed paths with the Best Actor award for years, he finally won in 2019 for his role in Big White Duel <白色強人>. He has a very positive image, as seen in his forgiveness for cheating ex-girlfriend Jacqueline Wong (黃心穎). Endorsing many brands recently, Kenneth’s annual salary is at HK$8 million.
Topping the list of highest earning TVB actor is 50-year-old Moses Chan (陳豪). His acting skills have been widely acknowledged, and he won Best Actor and Most Favorite Male Character for his role in 2007’s Heart of Greed <溏心風暴>.
Happily married to Aimee Chan (陳茵媺) with three children, Moses has cemented his image as a loving husband and family man over the years. A favorite among brands, Moses was allegedly offered HK$30 million to renew his contract, becoming TVB’s highest paid actor. Even if he does not have jobs lined up, he is still guaranteed good monthly pay as a salaried artiste.
