There’s More Than One Way to Watch Marvel’s Black Widow

Avengers: Endgame is already two years old, but the repercussions of its events have shaped the future of the MCU. It’s spawned spin-off television shows for Wanda Maximoff and Vision (made into the incredible WandaVision), The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and most recently Loki.

For the main Avengers crew, the impact was profound. Captain America left his superhero gig to spend the rest of his days with Peggy Carter, and both Black Widow and Iron Man died in the process of defeating Thanos. Despite her unfortunate ending, Black Widow still has one more tale to tell: her own. On July 9th, Black Widow will tell Natasha Romanoff’s (Scarlett Johansson) backstory, plus let viewers see what she got up to after 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. And who knows? Maybe Marvel will find a way to tease other upcoming releases along the way.

There’s more than one way to see this original Avenger’s sendoff.

Where can you watch Black Widow?

Black Widow will premiere in theaters and will also be available to stream (for an added fee, initially) on Disney+. The streaming service has two separate release dates. For those who want access right away, subscribers can pay for Premier Access, a one-time fee of $29.99 on top of the regular subscription.

For anyone who doesn’t want to fork over the cash, every Disney+ member can see the film without paying extra on October 6, 2021.

The film stars Scarlett Johansson in the title role. Florence Pugh plays Black Widow’s sister, Yelena Belova, and David Harbour plays Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian.
