The Patrick Star Show Cast Treats Fans to a Table Read-Style Storyboard Clip -Con 2021

The Patrick Star Show is a new SpongeBob SquarePants spin-off series that is focused on Patrick and his family and his imaginary variety show. During Comic-Con@Home 2021, fans were treated to a voiced storyboard clip from the show.

This clip, which you can see below, stars Bill Fagerbakke’s Patrick Star, Jill Talley’s Squidina Star, Tom Wilson’s Cecil Star, Cree Summer’s Bunny Star, and Dana Snyder’s GrandPat and is from the episode titled “Stair Wars.” It’s a work-in-progress, but it’s always a treat to see voice actors at work and a behind-the-scenes look at how animated shows come together.

The Comic-Con panel was moderated by SYFY Wire’s Tara Bennett and featured all the previously mentioned voice actors alongside co-executive producers Vincent Waller and Marc Ceccarelli.

The panelists discussed what makes The Patrick Star Show special and worth a watch. One of the main reasons is that this imaginary variety show is from Patrick’s brain, meaning it can truly go anywhere.

Marc Ceccarelli spoke about how this allows them to even play with the animation styles in different episodes, and can utilize stop motion, black and white, and even Fleischer-style animation.

While this is a SpongeBob spin-off, that doesn’t mean our favorite sponge won’t be part of the show. He will show up, and him and other characters will be able to take on analogs of themselves in the different stories they are looking to tell.

Some examples given were that a sci-fi story may feature the Patron robot, while a horror story could see Patrick as Patgor (Igor!) and SpongeBob as Frankenstein’s monster.

The Patrick Star Show has already aired its first three episodes and fans can check out this wonderfully wacky new show right now.
