Oscar Isaac Drops In To Introduce New Comic Series From Set of Marvel’s Moon Knight -Con 2021
Oscar Isaac made a surprise cameo during today’s Comic-Con 2021 panel featuring Head Wounds: Sparrow, a comic book project he is developing with Legendary Comics.
In a brief video, Isaac introduced the project and provided a quick update on what he’s been up to lately. “I’m here on the set of Marvel’s Moon Knight, we’re deep into it over here, it’s going great, it’s going to be a wild, wild show and I’ll be very excited to talk about it in the future,” Isaac said.
He then went on to re-introduce Head Wounds: Sparrow, a comic about Leo Guidry, an anti-hero cop who suffers a “psychic head wound” and suddenly finds himself in the midst of a war between angels, devils, and other assorted monsters.
Isaac is heavily involved in the development of the comic, which was first announced back in 2020, providing notes on the art and the writing between shooting his various projects. “He loves comics, it’s real for him, it’s not just like, ‘Oh, this would be a cool business opportunity.’ This was a passion project and that really came across,” said Robert Napton, Senior Vice President of Publishing at Legendary Comics.
“It’s been a labor of love, created first and foremost by my dear friend since childhood Robert Johnson, and John Alvey — two of my dearest buds from way back in the day,” Isaac said.
Isaac was finally confirmed to be involved in Moon Knight back in May, after several months of rumors. He will star as a hero suffering from dissociative identity disorder, meaning he will present as several different personalities. The show was first announced back in 2019, with Jeremy Slater serving as showrunner. The first season consists of six episodes and is set to premiere in 2022.
As for Head Wounds: Sparrow, it will be available starting Fall 2021. Stay tuned for lots more info via our San Diego Comic-Con 2021 hub as the show continues throughout the weekend.
