Bryant exited Wednesday’s game against the Phillies at Wrigley Field in the fourth inning due to right hamstring tightness and was not in the starting lineup Thursday or Friday. Manager David Ross said Bryant was still “a little achy” on Thursday. More >

The Reds placed Gray on the 10-day injured list Thursday due to a right rib cage sprain. It is Gray’s third stint on the IL this season, but he is hopeful he will not miss his next scheduled start thanks to the upcoming All-Star break. More >
Justus Sheffield, Mariners
Sheffield was placed on the injured list Wednesday because of a left forearm strain, and on Thursday, general manager Jerry Dipoto said the young left-hander also has a Grade 2 oblique strain. The club is uncertain how long Sheffield will be sidelined. More >
Eloy Jiménez and Yasmani Grandal, White Sox
The club announced Thursday that Jiménez will begin a rehab assignment Friday at High-A Winston-Salem. He has missed the entire season thus far after suffering a ruptured pectoral tendon during Spring Training. More >
The White Sox placed Grandal on the 10-day injured list with a torn tendon in his left knee Tuesday, and the club announced later that the veteran catcher underwent surgery to repair the tendon. Grandal was initially expected to miss approximately 4-6 weeks before returning, and after the surgery, the club said an updated timetable would be provided at a later date. More >
The Dodgers placed Kershaw on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with left forearm inflammation. He gave up three runs over four innings in a rain-shortened start in his last outing, which came on Saturday against the Nationals in Washington. Overall, he has a 3.39 ERA over 18 starts this season. More >
Darvish was pulled after throwing 64 pitches in three innings against the Nationals on Thursday night due to back and hip tightness. Darvish allowed six runs in those three innings. Manager Jayce Tingler said Darvish has dealt with the back pain over his previous four to five starts; only on Thursday did he feel his left hip tighten up. More >
Bregman (left quad strain) took batting practice Wednesday for the first time since being sidelined on June 16. He also ran at 85-90 percent of maximum effort and is nearing a rehab assignment. More >
Cain (right hamstring strain) began a rehab assignment at Triple-A on Thursday, picking up a single over two at-bats. However, Brewers manager Craig Counsell said Cain won’t return to the Majors until the team’s second series after the All-Star break, if not later. He hasn’t played for Milwaukee since May 31. More >
Carlos Martínez, Cardinals
The Cardinals placed Martínez on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a torn ligament in his right thumb. The right-hander sustained the injury while fouling a ball off during St. Louis’ recent series in Colorado. Manager Mike Shildt said Martínez is not expected back any time soon. More >
Albies was removed from Wednesday’s game against the Pirates with a stiff neck. The Braves announced the move was precautionary and the club is hopeful he will return to the lineup by Friday. More >
Sale threw another live batting practice session earlier this week and is scheduled to pitch in a simulated game Saturday before being sent out on a rehab assignment that could begin as early as July 15. More >

The club announced that X-rays were negative and Posey was diagnosed with a left thumb contusion. Means (left shoulder strain) began his rehab assignment with a two-inning outing for High-A Aberdeen on Saturday. With an eye toward returning after the All-Star break, he’s scheduled to make two more rehab assignments, the next planned for Friday at Double-A Bowie. More >
Polanco was placed on the 10-day injured list with a bilateral adductor strain on Tuesday. Polanco had been able to pinch-hit while out of the starting lineup since June 29, but manager Derek Shelton said that the right fielder had been struggling to run due to his injury. More >
A’s manager Bob Melvin said Wednesday that closer Trevor Rosenthal will not pitch this season due to a torn labrum in his right hip. Rosenthal had surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome in April and hasn’t yet pitched for the A’s after signing a one-year, $11 million deal to join the club last offseason. More >
