Here’s what to know about the position, and how to apply.

How to get paid to play on the internet

HighSpeedInternet.com, a site that aims to find the fastest and most reliable internet service providers in different areas, is looking to hire a Chief Happiness Officer.

Basically, the role involves spending a week doing your favorite fun activities involving the internet, and then reporting back about how it went. According to the job description, some of those activities include, but are not limited to:


  1. Streaming TV shows and/or movies

  2. Playing video games

  3. Using social media

  4. Video calling with friends and/or family

  5. Learning a new skill

  6. Pursuing an online education

  7. Running an online business

  8. Playing in a fantasy sports league

  9. Creative writing

  10. Making music

  11. Listening to music

  12. Listening to podcasts

  13. Shopping online

The successful candidate will have their internet connection upgraded (for free), receive one year of free internet service, and $5,000 for their work during the week.

How to apply for the position of Chief Happiness Officer

In order to apply for the role, you need to be at least 18 years of age, and authorized to work in the United States. If that’s the case, fill out this online application. It includes a section where you’ll explain why you’d be the best fit for the position of Chief Happiness Officer, and then indicating which activity you’ll be focusing on while on the job.

If yours isn’t on the list, click “other” and then be sure to fill in the box indicating what you’d be doing online. Finally, you’ll run some internet speed tests and answer some questions about your provider.

Applications must be received by 7 p.m. EST on July 30, 2021.

The person selected as the Chief Happiness Officer will be notified via email on/around August 2nd, and anyone can find out who was picked by following HighSpeedInternet.com on social media.
