According to statistics, about 40.3 million people are victims of human trafficking. Out of these people, 65% are women, and 19% of these women are minors. Human trafficking is an ongoing battle, but it is often relegated to the backseat for some reason.

“Into the Hand of a Woman” is Ohse’s attempt to bring the rampant, worldwide subject of human trafficking—particularly women trafficking—to light.

Judge Deborah Miller is the story’s protagonist, a strong-willed woman based on the Bible character of Deborah, the fourth judge of pre-monarchic Israel and the period’s only female judge. Judge Miller immerses herself in the author’s fictional quagmires of a criminal organization spearheaded by the rogue Israeli officer Sisera. Deborah, along with another Bible-based character Lieutenant Barak Cohen, fights against the exploitation of Israeli women to complete a God-given mission, to defeat the evil, Sisera, and free the oppressed.

The book is an action-packed blend of biblical references, romance, faith, and present-day issues. Both the book and Ohse have received high praise from one of the leading book reviewing firms, Reader’s Favorite, and won second place and a silver medal in the Readers’ Favorite 2013 International Book Award Contest.

Dianna Skowera from Reader’s Favorite has this to say about Ohse and her book:

“Ohse masterfully unites history, modern conflicts, and the resiliency of the human spirit in ‘Into the Hand of a Woman.’ Never has a modern tale so poignantly proven the struggles and joys of self-conviction. ‘Into the Hand of a Woman’ may borrow the attributes of historical characters, yet be prepared to laugh, love, and go into a modern-day battle. If humanity read this book and took notes, the world would be a better place. ‘Into the Hand of a Woman’ fights human trafficking the way the Spartans did in Sparta. Ohse’s characters inspire us with their dedication to morality, in spite of the overwhelming odds in our world today. I haven’t felt so inspired by a book in years!”
