A New International Coral Reef Partnership Has Been Announced
The Global Fund for Coral Reefs (GFCR) has announced a new partnership at an institutional level with the Ocean Risk and Resilience Action Alliance (ORRAA).
The new alliance seeks to create synergy through co-funding, co-implementation, and knowledge sharing in common areas across the globe.
It will also share information, best practices, and lessons learned about efforts involving coral reef restoration, transplantation, and coral reef science. Information will also be shared about how to create local livelihoods that have a positive impact on the coral reef.
The partnership also aims to explore how to mobilize the private sector to play a bigger role in protecting the world’s coral reefs. In addition, by interacting with global policymakers and investors, the partnership aims to drive a reef positive-policy worldwide.
